Colonel Mwizukanji Namwawa

Legal Counsel, Women Advocate and Gender Activist

Colonel Mwizukanji Namwawa is the first female and youngest woman full colonel in the Zambia Defence Forces. Col Namwawa is a lawyer and advocate of the High Court.

She is  doing great works in the defence forces and has taken up a role to push other women through her Push Women’s Network which advocates for women in leadership, women in positions of power and influence through education mentorship and capacity building.

One of the ways that the Network does this is through an annual gala awards night called The PUSH Women Awards. These awards celebrate women achieving excellence in unconventional fields. Col Namwawa is also a gender activist. Col Mwizukanji Namwawa Nyambe is a great inspiration to the women and the youth in our country.

She has a Law Degree obtained from the University of Zambia, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education. Col Namwawa went further to read Constitutional and Administrative Law at Master’s degree level.
